WolfPack Credo
This document is intended to help define how this Guild operates. Our concept is based on how a real world wolf pack operates:
There are times when all or some members are solo.
There are times when there are several small groups.
There are times when all or most of the pack is together.
Under any and all conditions our primary driving force is "We before Me" . That means the Pack should be your primary concern during the time you play. It does not mean the Pack owns you. It does not mean you have to give up your real world life. WoW is, after all, a game. However, when playing, there are guiding principles we must have if this Guild is to succeed, and therefore, our members are to succeed. Some of these may seem very harsh, but they are necessary because Blizzard has structured the game to force a certain play style to get the best gear. That style is Raiding. The membership has decided that, therefore, that must be our primary focus.
If YOUR primary focus is BG's, you will not be helping the Pack.
If YOUR primary focus is Arena, you will not be helping the Pack.
If YOUR primary focus is Solo, you will not be helping the Pack.
This does NOT mean that you can not do these things, only that you are expected to learn and participate in as many raids as possible. This is so you and everyone else can get the best gear available.
WARNING WARNING WARNING WARNING
Run throughs, quests, leveling
Do not ask for "run throughs". They are rarely done and then only under certain conditions. High levels may help each other level alts - that is personal, not Guild. If a high level dual clients, he may "power level" his own alt - again, personal, not Guild. A high level may show a first time player (low level) what a dungeon is about. Not Guild policy, but could be considered "training" if they are struggling and just aren't "getting it". A high level may, in a fit of generosity, invite others of the appropriate lower level to tag along. If you want to go, SAY SO FAST! Such fits fade quickly. If you are ever the beneficiary of any of the above, pay attention and do as you are told! It is expected that you are there to learn, so learn. Don't spoil it for the next person.
The way Blizzard has structured the game, direct help with quests and leveling by high levels to lower levels is very difficult most of the time. Blizzard keeps high levels busy. There are also issues like high levels killing lower levels XP when grouped. It's more possible within five levels of cap because that gets more members into end game content. May sound cruel; complain to Blizzard, switch to a PVE server, or become a Horde veteran and take pride in your battle scars and the Pack.
How to support the Guild and be supported by the Guild
We have three powerful tools available to members: Forums,Vent, and In-Game-Calendar.
ALL members are required to register on the Forums - NO exceptions.
ALL members are required to set up and have available for use Vent- NO exceptions.
ALL members are required to learn and use the in-game calendar feature - NO exceptions.
These three tools help to foster a community that makes ANY Guild group activity much easier and more likely to succeed. If you are reading this, you are already on the Forums. The Teamspeak (TS) HOWTO is in the "Guild Guide Area". Post is Connecting to Vent" Please read it and follow it exactly! Those who don't, usually have problems.
Guild Tabard
Wear the Guild tabard whenever possible, especially when "in town". Take pride in the Pack!
Get a Frostwolf mount
There will be times when the Guild, as a group, will show off. What better way than everyone riding a Wolf?
Alliance
Blizzard has raised the level of open warfare between Horde and Alliance. If a member is being severely harassed/ganked by Ally, and you are able (considering current activity, location, etc.), you are expected to go help. Especially if the following Ally guild is involved: Programmed to be Awesome. They are Guild KOS. Be smart and don't bite off more than you can chew. Kill them, try not to let them kill you.
Loot rules
Loot rules for raids are posted in the "Core Status Area"; sub head is "Raid info". Post is "Looting Rules 101". Read and understand them. Print them so you have a ready reference. If you have an issue, discuss it with an officer. They will do their best to clarify.
Improving your class
Instances, and Raids especially, will help you to improve your class abilities. Even high level players learn new things and new ways of doing what they already know. Sometimes, a small change can make a big difference.
Professions and members
The Pack is somewhat like an extended family. First principle is: don't try to make money from other members or beg from other members. It is quite possible to make money in this game. If you are having problems, ask for advice. You're not required to follow it, but at least it's available. There are some "fuzzy logic" parts to this principle.
1) If someone is leveling a profession, say Tailoring, and needs cloth to make the next milestone level, he may ask the membership to send him any excess cloth they have. That would be a freewill donation, no requirement. That favor should be returned to other members. Ultimately, this benefits the entire Guild.
2) If someone needs mats for something (usually because of some urgency), and they are expensive or rare, whoever has it/them may lend it (that means the expectation of being paid back) or sell it at a substantial discount. Clarification: if you don't feel comfortable lending or selling, then don't say anything. Again, Officers can help with questions.
3) Try to keep your needs within the Pack. We SHOULD be more trustworthy than the general population. If you need something from a particular profession, the general guideline is to provide the mats (and any attendant expenses, if any). No tips, no fees, no profit. We give each other a hand up, not a hand out.
If you follow all of the above to the best of your ability, then you and the Pack will be better and stronger than any of us alone.
